While it had advanced entrepreneurial skills, the Turin-based company was also advanced in communication skills and began to publish advertisements. One of the earliest adverts enables us to understand how resourceful and farsighted the company was in the field of communication:

"Caffarel, father and son producers of chocolate using a water-powered machine, awarded by His Majesty, located outside the Porta Susa, in their building on the Prince Eugenio promenade, with warehouse in Piazza Castello square near number 14".
It was a way of officially presenting the company to customers and of publicising its second important purchase: a water-powered machine built locally by the Piedmontese Mr. Doret that could refine cocoa powder and mix it with sugar and vanilla.
