We are again talking about 1826.
To create a chocolate with unmistakable flavour, Caffarel purchased a revolutionary industrial machine - invented by Bozelli of Genoa - which could produce 320 kilos a day - a real record for those days! But not for Caffarel, which was already displaying its pioneering spirit in Turin, a city which had been considered to be the kingdom of chocolate since the 1600s. |

In the early 1800s, a wheel powered by water from a canal at the Caffarel factory (located outside the "Porta Susa" in Turin) began to grind the first cocoa beans. Sacks of raw materials - carefully stored in the warehouse - were labelled with faraway countries of origin that were famous for the special quality of their crops. |

After purchasing the Bozelli machine, Caffarel reached a turning point in its history and travelled down the road of industrialisation to become a truly modern company. Yet, it has never abandoned its tradition of quality and craftsmanship. |
